He also encouraged them to take advantage of the educational and skill acquisition programs offered at the centre.

“It is not easy out there. So, take advantage of the WAEC, NECO, degree courses, and skill acquisition. These programs will be beneficial once you leave the custodial centre,” he said.

The bishop also urged the Federal Government to hasten efforts in stabilizing the economy and addressing poverty in the country.

“Only a few Nigerians are privileged while the majority struggle to even feed. I urge the Federal Government to take decisive actions to restore hope to Nigerians,” he added.

In his remarks, the Controller of Corrections in charge of Kuje Custodial Center, Christopher Jen, advised the inmates to perceive their incarceration as a preparation for future success.

Jen expressed appreciation to the Cardinal for his unwavering commitment to visiting the custodial center annually, highlighting that sharing such special moments with inmates serves as a significant source of inspiration.

Speaking on behalf of the others, an inmate thanked the cardinal for consistently showing them love by joining in the celebration of Christmas, which symbolizes genuine love.
