Bauchi police arrest six suspected armed robbers

They reportedly carted away items including an LG TV ’32’ flat screen, a Samsung Galaxy A51 phone, and an Itel keypad phone. Additionally, one of the suspects confessed to having raped a 23-year-old student of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, during an armed robbery operation at the victim’s lodge in Gwallameji.

The six arrested suspects were identified as Abdulgaffar Abdullahi, Ahmed Abdulkadir, Zakaria Saidu, Umar Abdullahi, Musa Saidu, and Musa Mohammed. They are accused to have conspired with five others who are still at large, with whom they armed themselves and invaded the two houses, committing the reported crimes.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Muhammad, has directed that the accused be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.

Various items, including an LG ’32’ flat screen, a dagger, torchlights, machetes, an Itel keypad phone, and the sum of N5,910, were recovered from the suspects. The Commissioner assured that the Command is committed to ensuring the safety of Bauchi State citizens and urged the public to cooperate with the Police in their efforts.
