Dr Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, a female aspirant vying for the Edo 2024 governorship race, has emphasized the need for the inclusion of women in partisan politics.

Loretta, who seeks the Labour Party ticket to compete for the state’s top position, expressed her concern that many Nigerian women are relegated to the background during election periods.

The aspirant affirmed that it is high time for women to assert their presence in politics.

Oduware Ogboro-Okor made these remarks shortly after publicly declaring her intention to vie for the Edo 2024 governorship election on Monday at the LP secretariat in Benin.

“A lot of women are always kept at the fringes; it’s time we occupy our space in the political arena; we need to be at the table so we can actively partake,” she said.

“We are grateful to all the men supporting us in shedding light on the state; it warms our hearts to see the readiness of our male counterparts to back us,” she added.
