Ihejiagwa mentioned that the tribunal’s order specifically included forensic inspection of the BVAS machine and expressed disappointment at INEC’s resistance to comply.

According to him, despite the tribunal’s directive, INEC denied access to the BVAS for inspection and only provided a fraction of the machines for scrutiny, hindering the LP’s forensic experts from examining them.

Expressing frustration, he questioned INEC’s actions in impeding the legal process considering its role as an electoral umpire.

Moreover, the LP’s governorship candidate’s counsel, Athan Achonu, underscored the tribunal’s order for a forensic examination of the BVAS machines to ensure their integrity.

He criticized INEC’s failure to adhere to the court order while reiterating the party’s trust in the judiciary for justice.

Earlier in the week, INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Emmanuella Ben-Opara, had affirmed that the requested materials for inspection were prepared and awaiting examination.
