Victor Osimhen’s Decision: Napoli Contract Won’t Be Renewed

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Victor Osimhen is resolute in his decision to leave Napoli, the reigning champions of Serie A, and has no intention of renewing his contract.

Osimhen’s current contract is set to expire in June 2025.

The Nigerian striker had been in talks with Napoli for a new two-year deal earlier in the summer. However, the relationship between Osimhen and the club soured after Napoli posted a TikTok video mocking him for missing a penalty in a league match against Bologna in September.

Although Napoli later released a statement regarding the incident, they did not issue an apology to Osimhen.

Romano stated on the Kick streaming platform, “For Victor Osimhen, it’s important to clarify that there is no agreement between Napoli and Osimhen for a new contract, as I have consistently mentioned since September. He is only under contract until June 2025, and my sources are clear that Osimhen is not inclined to sign a new deal with Napoli.”

“This remains the current status as of today. Football is unpredictable, but the current standpoint seems firm—Osimhen will not be renewing his contract with the club,” he added.

The 24-year-old has been linked with leading English Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal.

Following an injury sustained while on international duty in October, the forward made his return to action for Napoli last weekend after missing six games.
