The expulsion of the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general elections, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has been reaffirmed by the Executive Committee and stakeholders of NNPP in the North East zone. This decision was announced in a communique following the North East executive and stakeholders meeting in Bauchi on Friday.

The NNPP North East also expressed discontent with the Appeal Court’s judgment that removed Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf from office. Dr Babayo Liman, the NNPP National Vice Chairman North, addressed journalists, pledging continued support for the governor and emphasizing the need for unity among NNPP members across the country.

During the meeting, the dissolution of the Abba Kawu Ali-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the NNPP was affirmed. Furthermore, the North East NNPP executive committee and stakeholders passed a vote of confidence on Dr Boniface Aniebonan, the founder and life member of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Tope Aluko’s election as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Engr. Mohammed Babayo Abdullahi’s appointment as Secretary were also reaffirmed. Additionally, the meeting reaffirmed the appointment of the new NWC under the leadership of Dr Agbo Major.
