‘NFF treated me like rag’ – Vincent Enyeama

Vincent Enyeama, the former Super Eagles goalkeeper, has finally opened up about his rumored strained relationship with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that resulted in his sudden departure from the national team. The 41-year-old expressed his dismay at how the Nigerian football governing body treated him, likening it to being treated like a “piece of used material.”
In a recent interview with Hot Sports NG, when asked about the impact of his unexpected exit on the decline in the Super Eagles goalkeeping department, Enyeama commented: “I’ve not been following Nigerian football right from the day I left [resigned from the national team]. And with due respect, I was treated like a piece of used material.” He further stated, “So I put up a block between me and the national team. It’s now that I’m beginning to follow what is going on. But I really put a stop to watching football, the national team. I was deeply hurt. But now I’ve moved. I can’t really say much about the national team and the goalkeeping because I’m not watching them.”
Enyeama resigned from the national team in October 2015 after reportedly falling out with some of the country’s top football officials.
