“I regret it every day’ – Thuram on giving away Messi’s gift

Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram has expressed his regret over giving away a pair of football boots that were gifted to him by Lionel Messi when he was a child. The incident took place during the time when Thuram’s father, Lilian Thuram, and Messi played together at Barcelona from 2006 to 2008.
Thuram wanted to participate in his father’s training camp but did not have the necessary boots. At that time, Lionel Messi, who was around 19 or 20 years old, graciously lent Thuram his boots and allowed him to keep them. However, Thuram, who was only 10 years old at the time, unknowingly gave away the gifted boots to a friend the following day.
Reflecting on this, Thuram shared with DAZN, “Messi was the only one who could leave me a pair. I was 38 standing, and he was 40–41. I regret it every day.”
