The MNJTF has a firm stand against gender-based violence. Gen Ibrahim Sallau Ali, the Commander of MNJTF, made this known during a workshop in N’Djamena, Chad. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of sexual exploitation and gender-based violence in operational contexts.
During the workshop, Gen Ali emphasized the MNJTF’s role in rescuing thousands of women and girls from terrorists in recent years. He expressed the force’s commitment to upholding human rights and protecting vulnerable populations. Gen Ali also expressed gratitude to the African Union Mission Support Team for organizing the training, highlighting the importance of addressing gender-based violence within the operational framework.
He reaffirmed the MNJTF’s dedication to promoting a safe and secure environment for all individuals affected by conflict and instability. The MNJTF’s stance reflects its zero tolerance for gender-based violence during operations.
