Collision of Trucks in Lagos Results in One Injury; LASTMA Attributes Incident to Speeding

A video of the crash posted on the official X handle of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority depicted the vehicles, with one of them having its windscreen completely shattered.
Confirming the accident in an interview with PUNCH Online, Adebayo Taofiq, the agency’s Public Relations Officer, attributed the collision to overspeeding, stating that the truck bearing the registration number T382-LA collided with another truck.
Taofiq stated, “It occurred on the outward Apapa route, involving a truck. The vehicle was traveling at an excessive speed and consequently lost control, colliding with another truck. The registration number of the truck is T382-LA. It crashed into another moving truck ahead of it. As a result, LASTMA personnel, who observed the accident, promptly intervened and rescued the driver.”
He further mentioned that the driver sustained an injury to his left leg and was expeditiously transported to the Apapa General Hospital for medical attention.
“The driver sustained a severe injury to his left leg and was swiftly taken to Apapa General Hospital with the assistance of officers from the Area B Police Command in Apapa. Subsequently, LASTMA personnel arranged for a towing vehicle to clear the truck from the road,” added Taofiq.
