Afenifere reiterates its demand for restructuring

Afenifere expressed its support for President Bola Tinubu’s presidential ambition due to his track record on restructuring. They urged him to work towards realizing this lifelong aspiration now that he is in a position of influence.
The organization affirmed Reuben Fasoranti as its leader and national leader of the Yoruba people, with Ayo Adebanjo as the acting leader.
The group also highlighted the importance of engaging with local traditional leaders to address the indiscriminate selling of lands to non-indigenous people.
These points were outlined in a nine-point communique issued at the end of their meeting in Asoludero Hall at the private residence of former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel, who currently serves as the Senator representing Ogun East.
Attendees at the meeting included the National Organising Secretary of Afenifere, Kole Omololu, and representatives from various prominent figures.
Afenifere pledged to uphold the unity and development of Yorubaland and emphasized the importance of safeguarding the Yoruba language, culture, and traditions.
The organization also committed to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the security of Yoruba people, particularly in the face of challenges such as harassment and killings of rural farmers by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
