Liverpool Secure EFL Cup Victory over Bournemouth with Nunez’s Stunning Goal

Nunez, the Uruguayan striker, skillfully cut in from the left and accurately placed the ball into the top right corner of the net in the 70th minute, leaving Bournemouth goalkeeper Ionut Radu helpless.
Liverpool took an early lead in the first half courtesy of Cody Gakpo, who capitalized on Harvey Elliott’s parried volley to score from close range.
Bournemouth managed to equalize through Justin Kluivert, who scored his first goal for the club following his summer move from Roma. Kluivert headed home from an Alex Scott corner in the 64th minute.
In the final 15 minutes, Bournemouth pushed forward aggressively. However, their efforts were fruitless as both David Brooks and Hamed Traore failed to create any meaningful opportunities.
This marks Liverpool’s third appearance in the quarter-finals of the competition within the last five seasons.
