In connection with a gang rape incident at Airport Road, Kirikiri area of Lagos State, two individuals identified as Joy Chigozie and Musa Salihu have been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command.

PUNCH Metro has learned that the incident occurred on Sunday around 6 p.m. but was not reported until Monday at approximately 10.30 p.m. at the Kirikiri Police Station.

The victim, who is 29 years old, was reportedly lured by one of the suspects who is still at large to his alleged aunt’s shop, where she was given an alcoholic substance until she became intoxicated.

It was further revealed that the man, aided by his alleged aunt, took her to a room where he and five other men forcefully engaged in sexual intercourse with her, one after the other.

The victim was blindfolded and threatened with death if she did not comply with their demands.

Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, informed our correspondent that the 56-year-old Chigozie and one of the rapists had been apprehended and were currently undergoing interrogation.

Hundeyin stated, “On Monday, around 10.30 pm, a 28-year-old named Rosemary reported to the Airport Road Kirikiri Station that on October 29, 2023, around 4 pm, she encountered a man (currently on the run) who took her to a kiosk to buy Schnapp drink.

“The man introduced a 56-year-old woman to her as his sister. She mentioned that the woman and her brother, while consuming Indian hemp, made her intoxicated.

“The man then arranged for the woman to take her to a location where she encountered five other men. They threatened to kill her and blindfolded her with a cloth.

“Furthermore, she narrated that they engaged in sexual intercourse with her, one after the other.
