The EFCC has apprehended 69 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Osun

“They were apprehended on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in the Oduduwa Estate area of Ile-Ife, Osun State, based on actionable intelligence regarding their suspected involvement in fraudulent internet-related activities. Oduduwa Estate was connected to the activities of suspected internet fraudsters through credible intelligence,” the anti-graft agency stated.
NewsNow previously reported that the commission arrested at least 70 Obafemi Awolowo University students. Officials from the EFCC allegedly detained them in a midnight raid on hostels outside the campus.
Various sources in Ile-Ife confirmed to our correspondent on Wednesday morning that around 2 a.m., the officials stormed the Fine Touch and Superb hostels in Oduduwa Estate, Ile-Ife, broke into rooms, and arrested the students.
