The controversies surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023, presidential election have finally come to an end with the Supreme Court’s judgment.

On Thursday, October 26, the Supreme Court upheld President Tinubu’s victory, dismissing challenges from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party (LP) candidate Mr. Peter Obi.

Now that the Supreme Court has ruled in his favor, President Tinubu can focus on governance without distractions. It is expected that he will take decisive action to address the numerous socio-economic, political, and security challenges facing the country.

Dr. Pogu Bitrus, the president of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), suggests that President Tinubu should prioritize stabilizing the naira and promoting the use of LPG as an alternative to petrol. He also emphasizes the need to address security issues, particularly banditry and the return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their ancestral homes.

Maxi Okwu, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), highlights the state of the economy and emphasizes the importance of national cohesion and restructuring Nigeria.

Alhaji Yerima Shettima from the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) stresses the urgency of addressing poverty and uniting the country. He also calls for the President to address allegations of nepotism in key appointments.

Hon Shehu Yusuf, a former member of the Katsina State House of Assembly, urges President Tinubu to engage the opposition and ensure unity and development in Nigeria. He emphasizes the need for balanced appointments that consider all sections of the country.

All these individuals agree that President Tinubu needs to take immediate action to alleviate poverty, promote national unity, stabilize the economy, and address issues of security and nepotism. By doing so, he can lead the country towards progress and effectively address the challenges facing Nigeria.
