He emphasized that the command has finalized plans to ensure comprehensive security and will spare no effort to guarantee a smooth election process.

Ghandi also highlighted that since assuming his position, the command has successfully prosecuted 24 cases, resulting in over 90% convictions.

Furthermore, he presented a 30-year-old individual named Yomi Sunday, who has allegedly been involved in vandalizing armored cables in Mopa Muro Local Government Area of the state.

Gandi explained that the culprit was apprehended by the vigilante group and handed over to the corps.

He expressed regret that this act of vandalism has caused seven communities in Kogi West, including Aiyeteju – Mopa, Amuro, Agbajogun – Lodo, and others connected to the national grid, to experience darkness.

The suspect, who was paraded with eight bundles of wrapped cables for transportation convenience, confessed to using a cutter to cut and peel the electric cable. He also revealed using petroleum products scooped into two half-litre bottles to clean his hands after the operation.

The individual stated that he was enticed into this illegal business by an unnamed businessman who visited his community every Sunday and promised substantial returns for the products.

He added that the prospective buyer informed him that the cables were used to create earrings, bangles, and other ornaments. He expressed his disappointment at being caught during his first attempt.

Yomi Sunday, a father of five children and a motorcycle mechanic from Itakete-Ide, a quiet town in Mopa Amuro LGA, expressed regret for his actions and appealed for clemency, promising not to engage in such disgraceful activities again.

The commandant warned criminals to cease their nefarious activities and assured that the corps is fully prepared to eliminate crime and criminality across the state.

He also urged the public to provide timely and reliable information to the command, enabling them to combat crime and criminality effectively. He emphasized that tackling predatory elements requires collective action.

Additionally, he assured that the command will handle every piece of information with the utmost confidentiality.
