Currently, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyison Wike, are holding a face-to-face meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Both of them are attending the National Police Council meeting, which is being presided over by President Bola Tinubu.

Other state governors, including Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, ABDULLAHI Abba of Kano, and Bassey Ottu of Cross River, were seen heading to the closed-door event.

Prior to entering the closed-door meeting, some of the governors, including Wike and the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, were observed engaging in a separate conversation, while others exchanged pleasantries.

Later on, Wike shook hands and exchanged brief greetings with Governor Fubara after finishing his discussion with the NSA.

This is the first face-to-face meeting between the Rivers State Governor (wearing a white Kaftan) and his estranged Godfather, Wike (also seen in a white Kaftan), since the reported conflict between them began.

It should be noted that the crisis between Fubara and Wike allegedly prompted 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to attempt to impeach Governor Fubara, leading to unrest in the state on Monday, as the governor’s supporters protested against the plot at the assembly complex.
