Splendour Oko Eze, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in Ebonyi State during the 2023 general election, has distanced himself from Prince Aja Nwabueze Igwe, who asserts that he was the deputy governorship candidate of the party.

In a recent statement, Prince Aja Nwabueze Igwe, a former commissioner in Ebonyi State, announced his departure from the Labour Party and his intention to join the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Eze, however, swiftly responded by stating that Prince Aja Nwabueze Igwe was never a member of the party in the state.

Eze made this declaration in a statement issued in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.

Eze disowned Nwabueze Igwe and urged the general public and members of the Labour Party in the state to disregard his claims of being the former deputy governorship candidate of the party in the last general election.

According to Eze, “Nwabueze, who identifies himself as the deputy governorship candidate of Labour Party LP Ebonyi State in the just concluded 2023 Gubernatorial election, is nothing but false.”

“He was never a member of the Labour Party LP Ebonyi State and therefore cannot be my deputy in the election. My deputy was Mr. Sylvester Nwankwo. The general public should completely disregard Mr. Igwe A. Nwabueze’s claims; they are entirely false,” he stated.
