Emerald Schools in Aba Sealed by Abia Govt, Parents Ordered to Withdraw Children

The Abia State Ministry of Education in Umuahia has announced the sealing of Emerald Schools, located at Crystal Park Avenue, off Port Harcourt road in Aba South LGA. The ministry has also withdrawn their operational approval.
In a statement signed by Professor Uche-Eme-Uche, the Commissioner for Education, it was stated that the school did not meet the required standards set for private schools in the state. This unfortunate situation resulted in the death of a pupil.
Parents and guardians were advised to immediately withdraw their children or wards from the school.
The statement emphasized that the ministry is committed to upholding the welfare and safety of Abia children as their top priority. It warned that any attempt to illegally reopen the school will face severe consequences from the government.
Inspections of private schools in the state by the ministry of education in Umuahia have commenced. The purpose is to assess their compliance with educational standards.
It should be recalled that a 3-year-old pupil, Master David Jacob Etim, tragically fell from the school building and passed away about two weeks ago, according to the Abia State Police Command.
