EFCC Bans Nighttime Sting Operations

The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has issued a directive to halt all sting operations conducted at night in all EFCC commands.
This measure aligns with the recently revised procedures concerning the arrest and bail of suspects.
In response to the arrest of 69 suspected internet fraudsters by operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Commission in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Chairman Olukoyede gave this directive on Wednesday in Abuja. The commission has already released many of the suspects who were duly profiled by the command, while profiling of the remaining unreleased suspects will be completed promptly.
The commission assures the public that it will continue to adhere to the rule of law in carrying out its responsibilities.
