According to a statement from NiDCOM’s spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the minister expressed concerns about certain imbalances in migration and visa policies that are making Nigeria a dumping ground.

“The review will consider the principle of reciprocity in line with international standards,” the minister stated.

Earlier, Dabiri-Erewa commended the minister for his dynamic approach in improving passport issuance for Nigerians both in the country and abroad.

She emphasized the need for a more efficient process for capturing and collecting passports for Nigerians living outside the country.

The NIDCOM chairman also stressed the urgent requirement for collaboration and the establishment of a structural platform to address complex diaspora issues that necessitate coordinated efforts from various government bodies.
