Cameroonian Soldiers Killed by Biafra Militants in Bakassi Shootout

Reports indicate that a group of separatist militants loyal to the Biafra Nations League (BnL) successfully repelled an alleged invasion attempt by the Rapid d’Intervention Battalions (BIR), a unit of the Cameroonian armed forces. The incident occurred in the Atabong East communities of the Idabato subdivision in the Bakassi Peninsula.
The defensive attack, which took place on October 31 at approximately 4 pm, was claimed by Dragon Fighter Marine, a faction of BnL. It is reported that three Cameroonian soldiers lost their lives in the shootout. The BnL separatists are known to operate in the outskirts of the Bakassi Peninsula.
According to sources, the battle for control of Idabato lasted less than 30 minutes, forcing the BIR to retreat from the area. The Cameroonian soldiers fell victim to an ambush as the militant group opened fire from behind.
As of now, there has been no official reaction from the Nigerian authorities regarding this development.
