Shatta Wale Says Nigerian Singer Asake Is Bigger Than Any Ghanaian Artiste

Renowned Ghanaian musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., who is widely recognized as Shatta Wale, recently expressed his view that the current sensation in the Nigerian music scene, Asake, surpasses all Ghanaian artists in terms of popularity.
Shatta Wale shared this perspective via his Twitter account while participating in a live conversation with Ghanaian media personality, Serwaa, on a Wednesday broadcast.
In his statement, Shatta Wale remarked, “Asake has achieved a level of prominence that no Ghanaian artist has attained, not even myself. When we evaluate the accomplishments, it’s evident that no artist within the Ghanaian music fraternity has accomplished what Asake has. Let’s objectively consider this reality.”
The host inferred: “But you said you are the richest Ghanaian artiste and you haven’t even made it up to Asake’s level?”
Shatta Wale replied: “Why would I have to make it up to Asake’s level [before I would be the richest artiste in Ghana]? There is a Spanish artiste in Spain or Dominican Republic that is making money that we don’t know.”
Few weeks back, Shatta Wale asserted that the successes of Nigerian musicians have dwarfed the achievements of their Ghanaian counterparts while congratulating Asake for selling out the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.
